Pacquioa vs Cotto Firepower Predictions

If you are involved in real estate business, you are very much familiar with the housing adage “location, location, location.” Not surprisingly, in boxing today there is a similar tune and that is “prediction, prediction, prediction.” This is the most common boxing topic on every boxing forum. Who can accurately predict the outcome of the much anticipated, mega-welterweight showdown between the pound for pound king Manny “Pacman” Pacquioa and the current WBO welterweight champion Miguel Angel Cotto of Puerto Rico? Boxing fans from all over the world and of course, boxing experts (analysts, promoters, trainers, journalists, etc.) have something to say about this incredible and exciting match-up between the two best ring gladiators of the Sweet Science.

Legendary boxing trainers like Angelo Dundee and Emanuel Steward predict that Cotto’s skills and power will earn him a victory over the most exciting fighter in the world in Pacquioa, while Pacman’s astute trainer Freddie Roach and conditioning guru Alex Ariza boldly claim that Cotto will not last against their fighter’s blinding speed and vaunted power. Many popular fighters, who either currently have a championship title or have held one in the past, like Bernard Hopkins, Mike Tyson, and Floyd Mayweather, Jr., agree with Roach and Ariza’s assessment. Hopkins believes that Cotto’s youthful face will be “busted up” in this fight; Mayweather states that Pacquioa “is a quick starter” and he leans toward the latter in this showdown; and Mike Tyson undoubtedly forecasts, “Pacquioa will win.” There are countless predictions made by different, knowledgeable boxing experts for this championship duel and the fighters truly deserve all the accolades and recognitions because they amazingly stand out amongst all the fighters of today: two gallant warriors ready to face and destroy each other with their limitless arsenal of “Firepower.”

On November 14th, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, we will witness a boxing classic unfolds before our very eyes, between the fighting pride of Puerto Rico, Miguel Angel Cotto and of the Philippines, Manny “Pacman” . The former (Cotto) eying to dethrone the pound for pound champion and the latter (Pacquioa) ready to defend his title as the best fighter in the planet and to cement his legacy as one of boxing greats, if not the greatest, by winning an unprecedented seventh title in seven different weight divisions. Regardless of the outcome, worldwide fans of the Sweet Science can proudly boast that they witnessed the greatest fight of all time in their generation: The Firepower Championship of Manny Pacquioa and Miguel Cotto.

Pac-man is focused to win fight

Focus and determination are some of the major factors that will enable Pacquiao to win in his ‘Firepower’with Cotto. This was how former world boxing champion Gerry Penalosa looks at the chances of Pacquiao prevailing over Cotto on their November 14 fight.
One of Manny Pacquiao’s closest friend, Gerry Penalosa, himself a great world boxing champion, had the opportunity to assess and observe at close range his friend’s readiness for his upcoming ‘Firepower’ fight with welterweight champion Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico.
The popular Filipino boxing superstar is now back in Manila from Baguio City where he has been training and sparring with some of the world’s great boxers in preparation of his date with Cotto on November 14. His friend Gerry Penalosa is proud to share his own boxing gym in Mandaluyong City in Manila for the last leg of Pacquiao’s training before he leaves for Los Angeles, California to continue his last part of training and physical conditioning at Freddie Roach’ Wild Card gym.
Penalosa who was present all the time during Pacquiao’s practice at his gym said ‘
“He was focused, determined and every inch the champion,” Peñalosa said of the pound-for-pound king in his Oct. 19 “Fearless” column on PhilBoxing.com.
He added that Pacquiao did not even look exhausted after training.
“I am every bit confident that the Pacman will devour Miguel Cotto… Manny might be the smaller guy but he was so fast,” he wrote.
Speed and strength are some of the factors that matter in the upcoming ‘Firepower’ fight. In one of his latest comments after moving down to Manila from Baguio CIty, Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach commented on Pacquiao’s newfound power as a result of his focused and determined training, saying that his arms really ‘hurts’ due to powerful punches that he absorbs from his ward.
Roach attributed Pacquiao’s strength partly to Alex Ariza’s new physical conditioning exercises. But still Pacquiao is being credited for his focus and determination.
